I recently had the pleasure of making a long morning visit to one of my favorite spots in the Triangle – Traditions in Tile at Brier Creek. Joined by Carolyn, RED’s Project Manager, and with coffees in hand, we settled in with Christine Zahuranec, Expert Design Consultant and Purveyor of Tile Fun, who was going to go through the extensive variety of tile designs and product options throughout the showroom.
To give you a sense of where my long-standing relationship began with this vendor, I’ll take you back to the spring of 2017……
I was on the hunt for some irregular dark/moody tile for a design project in Northgate Park (located just north of Durham’s city center). My clients were looking for a tile that had a handmade, vintage look but with a great price tag! As a typical spring in the Triangle was warming up, I was running out of options, and time. After a quick outfit change (because cool, calm and collected is always a good calling card) I encouraged my customers to visit a highly recommended tile showroom, Traditions in Tile at Brier Creek.
Upon arrival we were greeted by Christine Zahuranec, a woman who truly believes Tile is Fun. After a showroom tour through ceramics, porcelains, glass and stone I had a lightbulb moment as I realized we were in very good hands. Have you ever been in a store, or had a vendor partner, and picked up on their energy and the passion for their craft? This was one of those moments.
During our visit Christine listened to my client’s needs and showed them selections that were strong contenders. But more than just talking price, lead time, and carton quantity, she also shared the history of their tile suppliers. Christine has a passion for the tile works at Traditions in Tile at Brier Creek. This is evident as she talked through some of the vendor histories – like couples going on vacation and then starting tile companies in their garage, and stone vendors who own their quarries and take the time to ask questions about upcoming trends.
Traditions in Tile at Brier Creek can accommodate any size project and will work just as diligently on a small bathroom renovation as a custom home (even that pool you’ve been dreaming about)!
We will forever love a white subway tile for its crisp, timeless aesthetic. But current trends and pops of color are available in many dimensions, shapes and textures (and at all price points). Traditions in Tile at Brier Creek truly believes in tile diversity. They carry a large array of stock tiles but also supply beautiful, exotic, designs (Pratt & Larson, Oceanside Glasstile, Sonoma Tilemakers and Galleria Marble) and ready-to-ship waterjet mosaic (Marble Systems, Elon Tile & Stone, DW Stone or Topcu). We were particularly in awe of the Wow tile line (think exceptional Spanish flair), gorgeous cement tiles from Lili and Sabine Hill, and the exquisite Italian craftmanship of products made by the Emil family.
Are you considering a monochromatic bathroom or kitchen? A bold moment with Calacatta? The classic look of marble? Dreamy and playful Terrazzo? Book an appointment for your consultation and discover the endless possibilities.
